The highest technology level is 13 at Lakea (Empty Quarter 1738) and Niketan (Empty Quarter 2434).

The human population of Iisdirrii shares their world with a lost Sydite colony.

The Panos Settlement of 873 placed limits on Ducal eligibility in the Empty Quarter, subject to revision only by Prince Panos, his heirs, or the Emperor himself. The most important of the guidelines was tying the ethnicity of a ruling noble to their world, 'unless special circumstances dictate otherwise'.
