Uaam has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Argi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Uaam, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This is the homeworld of the Jala'Lak, a Minor Race. During the Long Night this world was named Uunish.

Astrography and planetology

Uaam is divided into two continents. One polar and desolate, the other sparsely populated and covered with jungles and thick rain forests. The deserted eastern side of the continent holds several vast, mostly automated open-cast mines. There are very high quality radioactives to be found in the rock under the seabed, and a number of deep sea mining installations have been developed specifically to mine them.

Native Sophont: Jala'Lak

The southwestern jungles support the Jala'Lak; an indigenous native race, which is subject to some controversy. The Jala’Lak are peaceful and live in harmony with the jungle, they are a race of large primates. The forests they live in are fill with temples, apparently to their various gods and the Free University of Ushra maintains a base there in order to better study this fascinating neolithic race.

History and background

The Jala'Lak can also be found on Giirakh (Dagudashaag 0325) but for an as yet inexplicable reason, their temper is vastly different - much more savage, even cannibalistic. Clearly they are not native to Giirakh and consequently are the subject of much debate.
