Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard. |
The Type HX class Explorer is a science starship.
- It is a civilian ship and a Explorer Vessel.
Description (Specifications)
Using a 200-ton hull, the Hiver Explorer is a multi-function ship intended for economical individual transport inside the Hive Federation, or exploration beyond it borders. It mounts a jump-3 drive, and a 3G maneuver drive. Fuel tankage of 90 tons supports the power plant and one jump-3. Adjacent to the bridge is a computer model/3. There are ten staterooms and no low berths. The ship has one hardpoint, but mounts no turrets or weaponry. There is one ship's vehicle, a G-Carrier. Cargo capacity is 2 tons. The hull is streamlined.
The Hiver Explorer requires a crew of five: pilot, navigator, two engineers, and medic. The ship can carry five passengers (up to 15 passengers when the passengers and crew go double occupancy). The ship takes 12 months to build.
