Tranquilizer round

Jump to navigation Jump to search

Tranquilizer rounds are commonly used by civilian shipboard security, and are most frequently found as ammunition for shotguns and Snub guns. However, dosage of each individual round needs to be rather low, because of possibility of an overdose, especially with traditional central nervous system depressants. More modern nanotech-based release systems do not suffer from this issue.

Description / Specifications[edit]

Tranquilizer ammunition comes in two forms: Injectors ("Tranq") and Gas, launched from a firearm. The most common tranq rounds are for shotguns and the Snub family of short-nosed 10mm firearms intended for low- and zero-G environments.

History & Background[edit]

Tranquilizer rounds have been around for thousands of years, often found in law enforcement and certain hunting uses.
