Touch-Maps
Touch-Maps are Traveller subsector maps enhanced to be user-friendly for Traveller fans who are blind or have limited eyesight, and who use tablets or other touch-screen devices with software to read aloud text that is touched.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Concept: Specific planned enhancements are increased size to make it easier to touch individual hexes without accidentally touching adjacent hexes, and image-mapped text to work with the read-aloud software to deliver information about what is in each hex.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Development: The current pilot project page (as of 28 October 2013) is a Touch-Map of Regina Subsector. Once that page is completed and tested and refined to the satisfaction of our test user (or test users, if additional testers volunteer), then more Touch-Maps in the same format will be created for every subsector in the Spinward Marches sector. Once we have a format finalized, a “How-To” section will be added to this page laying out the whole process for making these Touch-Maps, for anyone who wants to expand the coverage by making more. We may also have a template to help with making them all uniform in layout and information content.
Discussion[edit]
Help and suggestions are welcome – this is a Wiki, after all. :-) For discussion of the general subject of Touch-Maps, please use the Discussion tab for this page; for discussion specific to the pilot page for Regina Subsector, please use the Discussion tab of that individual page.
