History & Background (Dossier)
Tonopah, formerly known as Shikashu (Anglic: Shikashu), is a high-population Imperial garden world located on the Rim Main within Albadawi Subsector of the Solomani Rim.
Imperial Landed Nobility
Tonopah, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
World Starport
Tonopah has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Technology Level
Tonopah possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Government
Tonopah is governed by a Religious Dictatorship. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy). There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, have direct influence by controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.

Historical Data
Originally an important Vilani world, Tonopah was settled after the Eighth Interstellar War by a mixed group of North American colonists, including a large contingent from the so-called “Mormon” religious sect, hoping to find a refuge from what they considered the increasingly secular society of Terra (Solomani Rim 1827).
During Long Night Tonopah was settled by a large number of Aslan Ihatei. Tonopah joined the new Dingir League around -1100, and the Church organization had effectively become the planetary government. Tonopah joined the Imperium but later embraced the Solomani Confederation until Imperial control was restored.
Today, Tonopah has reconciled itself to Imperial rule and the church hierarchy is back in charge. Pro-Solomani activism continues, but is usually peaceful. The primary conflict on the planet today is between the Human and Aslan populations.
