The Time In Jump or TIJ is an inexact measure of the amount of time spent in jumpspace once FTL travel has been initiated.

Starships remain in jump space for roughly a week no matter the distance traversed by the jump.

  • Starships can coordinate jump travel with exact timing.
  • While jumps can be coordinated, ships cannot travel together.
  • All starships in J-space appear alone and isolated.

While the duration of conventional Jump Drive travel remains 168 hours (+/- 10%), it is believed that more advanced FTL Drives may be able to reduce this time.
