Tienzhkenzhplo has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This world contains an archaeological site with artifacts suspected to be from the now-vanished Ancients. The governance of this world is from Dlianzhfetlstiq (Knoellighz 0231). It is a member of Zhodani Consulate in the Yeplzhaf Subsector of Knoellighz Sector and in the Province of Shtochiadr.

History & Background (Dossier)

Tienzhkenzhplo (Knoellighz 0328) D427668-7 Ni / An / O:0231 was a Colony funded by Dlianzhfetlstiq (Knoellighz 0231) in the Yeplzhaf Subsector of Knoellighz Sector. In large, Jump-1 capable colony vessels, the Zhodani made their way Coreward along the 29-world main with great hopes of new settlements and a change of scenery in filling out more of the frontier subsector.

A world almost the size of Mars at 6,500km diameter and 0.36 surface gravity was marked as near enough conditions to allow colonization.

The world’s Very Thin and Tainted atmosphere at was felt at 0.42 surface atmosphere pressure as conquerable by use of environment domes and ocean spheres’ compression and filtration plants at their Tech Level of A (10).

At 70% hydrosphere coverage, the Earth-like quality of Tienzhkenzhplo’s oceans was far more welcoming.

With no Gas Giants and no belting prospects in-system, the colonists pressed on to the mainworld with hopes that the initial surveys were accurate in the mineral content of the crust of the planet. Refueling would require the use of local water on the surface pumped to purification plants. At only TL 10, the colonists did not have means of starships with hulls strong enough to land safely in large bodies of water.

Upon successful settling of the first continent, a Jump-1 messenger vessel was dispatched with the good news back to Dlianzhfetstic. All was well and city planning and the search continued for the suspected deposits of Onnesium and traces of Monadium once detected from orbit years before.

Upon battling chaser, pouncer, siren and trapper fauna, the Zhodani confirmed the presence of the above mineral resouces. The trace monadium widened eyes of surface scouts as the mineral was formed already and in forms that could only be guessed as Ancients in origin. This was one of the first Ancients time capsules to be discovered by the Zhodani in Knoellighz Sector and Yeplzhaf subsector.

Once the colonist scouts had drilled deep enough into the crust, past various natural deposits of precious gemstones and even a silver vein, the source of the monadium was attained and breached. Recorders were active at the time and transmitting back to the colony Capital when the psionic pulse flowed outward from the dig site and over the planet, hindered and contained by the globe’s magnetosphere and thinned further by intense solar winds that year. The Ancients time capsule, once thought to be a treasure to be discovered became a void of higher thought.

A psionic wind of amnesia flowed over the entire planet, striking any mind with a UPP Intelligence rating of 4 or better. Minds were erased of all but animal-level cognizance and consciousness. Quick-thinking Zhodani transmitted the recordings and data along with a warning message to orbital anchor-beacons powered by solar and slow-cooking fusion power plants before being overwhelmed by the wind. About one million Zhodani colonists were reduced to Neanderthal mentality by the higher-mind amnesia.

When the next shipment of colonists arrived a few months after the All-Well message, the beacons in orbit warned of the psionic wind of amnesia. They analyzed the data, concluded the Ancients’ time capsule was to blame and turned around for home.

The subsector Capital issued a Forbidden zone rating for Tienzhkenzhplo until the psionic wind could safely be nullified or shielded against. As of 1200, the Zhodani Consulate has yet to risk another landing. The colony, as seen from high orbital imagery, is overgrown by the flora. There is little information on the mind-wiped, original colonists on the planet’s surface.
