Thoerz Zdarr

A polity once active in Ghoekhnael Sector. Its name meant "Seven Fragments" in Arrghoun, as it controlled seven systems taken from a prior state that collapsed due to infighting. The Thoerz Zdarr itself collapsed following a conflict with the Taakas Yh'Drak.

History[edit]

In 1110, the Ilksang Oekhgnoull, one of the polity's neighbours, proved to the Drakarans that Zosokhsourztourrgh corsairs were operating from Thoerz Zdarr bases.

Faced with the destruction of merchant shipping and the demands of influential Drakaran clans for protection, the ruling Drakaran military alliance overreacted. The Thoerz Zdarr's emissaries refused to accept responsibility, and suggested that the Drakarans reach an accommodation with the corsairs. Instead, in 1111, twelve Drakaran battle squadrons struck without warning, leaving much of the Thoerz Zdarr's infrastructure in ruins. The Ash-Trankar -- Drakaran clan marines -- landed on five of the state's worlds. A neighbouring Vargr polity, the Princedom of Taekvonutoe, accepted Thoerz Zdarr refugees; these began calling for a crusade against the alien aggressors. Another small empire, the Ksoesueng Reghz, remained neutral at first, but in 1113 attacked -- not the Drakarans, but the two remaining Thoerz Zdarr worlds.

Emissaries from the Ilksang Oekhgnoull and the Zhodani Consulate negotiated a peace, with the territories of the destroyed Thoerz Zdarr now split between the Drakarans and the Ksoesueng Reghz.

Ironically, the destruction of the Thoerz Zdarr triggered a worse corsair problem than existed previously. Many of their warships and troopships chose to flee rather than surrender, and subsequently turned pirate.
