Thizet is a rich, nonindustrial desert world with no free-standing water.

  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • This world is rich with high-grade living conditions, a good climate, and a non-harmful environment. Immigration registration for this world is always in high demand.
  • This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
  • It is a member of the Bright Conclave in the Alasim Subsector of Halcyon Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data[edit]

Sharim-Thizet System[edit]

The primary is Sharim, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.42 Sols, a mass of 0.825 Sols, and a diameter of 1.263 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere inner world, (II-I) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (II-II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Globol, a small gas giant, orbits within the habitable zone: (IIIa) Thizet is its only major moon and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (V) a ringed large gas giant, (VI) a large gas giant, (VII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, and (IX) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system – orbital position (VIII) is empty. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

(III) Globol[edit]

(III) Globol is a small gas giant that orbits Sharim at a mean distance of 0.82 AU (122.7 million km), within the habitable zone, and has an orbital period of 298 days 14 hours. It has a diameter of 31,000 km and an atmosphere consisting of 89% hydrogen (H2), 11% helium (He), and less than 1% methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3), water vapor (H2O) and other trace gases. It is a banded brown-tan color with bright aurora at the poles. It retains one major satellite.

Satellite[edit]

Globol retains a single major natural satellite:

(IIIa) Thizet (designated the mainworld, orbiting at 8 Diameters/248,000 km)

Mainworld Data[edit]

(IIIa) Thizet[edit]

(IIIa) Thizet is the only major moon of (III) Globol and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 8 diameters (248,000 km), with an orbital period of 19 days 15 hours: it is tidally locked to Globol. The axial tilt is 4 degrees relative to Globol. Thizet has a diameter of 6,728 km, a density of 4.83 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.46 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Globol cause frequent geological activity. The atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.91 bar and a composition of 79% nitrogen (N2), 19% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Thizet is a desert world: around 0.8% of the surface is covered in lakes of liquid water. Mean surface temperature: -2°C. The climate is rated as Cold and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star work across the globe.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 142 million km², Land surface area: 131 million km², Water surface area: 11 million km².

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Sharim-Thizet System[edit]

Thizet, the mainworld, has primitive native life, entirely consisting of single-celled cyanobacteria-equivalents that can be found in every geologically active area on the world. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

No other world in the system is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Much of Thizet is owned by the estate of the Bright family.

World starport[edit]

Thizet has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level[edit]

Thizet possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.

World government[edit]

Thizet is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
