Thaakh is a low-population vacuum world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

• Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
• It is a member of the Sath Alliance in the Sath Subsector of Far Home Sector.

• Warning: humans are not welcome within the Sath Alliance. Those few humans that venture into its territory are generally met with a hostile reception and are closely monitored at all times.

Ch'kath-Thaakh System

The primary is Ch'kath, a dim red subdwarf star. It has a luminosity of 0.00103 Sols, a mass of 0.081 Sols, and a diameter of 109,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (III) a very thin atmosphere radworld, (IV) Thaakh, designated the mainworld, (V) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (VI) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (VII) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (VIII) a ringed very large gas giant, (IX) a sparse icy planetoid belt, and (X) an exotic atmosphere radworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

• The star experiences periodic flare activity.

(IV) Thaakh is designated the mainworld. It orbits Ch'kath at a mean distance of 0.94 AU (140.6 million km), within the outer system. It has an orbital period of 3 years 74 days and a rotation period of 23 hours. The axial tilt is 18 degrees. Thaakh has a diameter of 1,322 km, a density of 6.11 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.11 G. The world is geologically inert. Its atmosphere is rated as Vacuum. The world has no hydrosphere. Mean surface temperature: -196°C.

There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
