Tepok is an icy, low-population vacuum world, with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Its surface is ice-capped with little or no atmosphere and nearly all of its water frozen.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Alasim Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It is a part of the Bright Peninsula.

System Data
Bay-Tepok System
The primary is Bay, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0268 Sols, a mass of 0.4258 Sols, and a diameter of 658,000 km. (I) an exotic atmosphere radworld orbits within the habitable zone. (II) Lemm, a small gas giant: (IIa) Tepok is its outer moon, (III) a trace atmosphere iceworld, and (IV) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Oswold Subsystem
The companion is Oswold, a magenta-coloured L-type brown dwarf orbiting Bay at approximately 22 AU (orbital position (IX), 3.29 billion km) and has an orbital period of 158 years. It is not luminous, it has a mass of 0.063 Sols and a diameter of 60,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet forms the outer system. The worldlet does not retain satellites.
(II) Lemm
(II) Lemm is a small gas giant that orbits Bay at a mean distance of 0.37 AU (55.4 million km), within the outer system, and has an orbital period of 125 days 23 hours. It has a diameter of 24,000 km and an atmosphere consisting of 93% hydrogen (H2), 7% helium (He), and less than 1% methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3), water vapor (H2O) and other trace gases. It is a dark green color with indistinct yellowish bands. It retains a family of two major satellites.
Satellites
Lemm retains two major satellites:
- (IIa) Ketan (UWP G200265-9, orbiting at 8 Diameters/192,000 km)
- (IIb) Tepok (designated the mainworld, orbiting at 20 Diameters/480,000 km)
Mainworld Data
(IIa) Tepok
(IIa) Tepok is the outer of the two major moons of (II) Lemm and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 20 diameters (480,000 km), with an orbital period of 60 days 3 hours: it is tidally locked to Lemm. The axial tilt is 5 degrees relative to Lemm. Tepok has a diameter of 4,682 km, a density of 4.39 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.29 G. Tidal stresses caused by the gravitational pull of Lemm cause occasional geological activity. It retains an atmosphere rated as Vacuum. Around 6% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -93°C.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 69 million km², Land surface area: 65 million km², Ice surface area: 4 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Bay-Tepok System
No world in the system is known to have native life.
Oswold Subsystem
No world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Tepok has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Tepok possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World government
Tepok is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.
