The Tentrassi are a technologically sophisticated sophont species.
- They are a Minor Non-Human Race with a Non-humanoid appearance.
Description (Specifications)
A minor alien race which resides in Zarushagaar.
Physiology & Ecology
Tentrassi are warm blooded, average 1.3 meters in height, have two sexes and bear their young live. They are covered by short fur which indicates development from an arboreal predecessor. The hand is suitable for fine work and consists of three fingers and an opposable thumb. The senses are about those of a human, except for sight which is more acute.
History & Background (Dossier)
The location of the original Tentrassi homeworld is not only unknown but also shrouded in mystery. Stories vary according to the source. It is known that they came to the worlds they presently occupy during the Long Night by sub-light sleeper ships, but where those ships originated is not known. Some scholars have even speculated that they come from another galaxy.
Tentrassi lore claims everything from natural disaster to divine exile to be the cause of the exodus. The Homeworld Mystery has so consumed certain members of the race, that some band together to search for their origin. This search has given rise to the nomad fleets so commonly associated with the Tentrassi. A fleet normally consists of three or more ships, engaging in trade as they conduct their quest.
Tentrassi are gregarious in nature and have a great love of their families. They particularly enjoy being with their own kind, but suffer no ill effects when alone. Some scholars believe that the Homeworld Mystery is the reason for such racial closeness and that this in turn drives some to find their origin world. Tentrassi tend to be polite and friendly with few exceptions. Violence among them is mostly unknown and military forces are maintained for purely defensive purposes.
