Physiology & Ecology

Adult Temelik are an inverted pear shape, standing a little over 1m in height and weighing around 100kg. Three multi-jointed “spider-legs” equilaterally spaced around the base of the body give them excellent support and surprising speed. Three thin, dexterous arms lie below a sensory cluster located about a third of the way up the body. Temelik have a secondary sensory dome at the top of their bodies and are covered in dense feathery down.

History & Background (Dossier)

Temelik are generally cautious, sometimes appearing to be withdrawn or even introverted. They are pacifistic, preferring to avoid confrontation if at all possible. They are shrewd and have a strong instinct for self-preservation. They are inquisitive and curious, however, and have a reputation for meddling with things that they don’t understand, sometimes with disastrous consequences.

Temelik live in small family enclaves in a thriving agrarian society with a rich and varied culture. They have a broad technological base which is gradually improving. Their own government is one of small self-reliant nations organised along lines of mutual interest and headed by individuals chosen for their experience and expertise. The nature of Temelik society is changing, however, as enclaves are being forced to specialise and are becoming dependent on one another for the necessities of life.
