While the Culloden system is a vital link in the chain of defenses against the Reavers from the Khan worlds, and a useful mining base, the system - an arid "hellworld" where "shore leave" is invariably a tour of the starport bars - is considered one of the least desirable postings in the Caledonian fleet.
