Notes (2017)[edit]

Thomas, why all the deletions? Is this a canon decision?
The relay station is mentioned in literature. I didn't make it up.

Do you have a source I can verify?

Start with the T5SS logs-notes-emails and the files at the Traveller Map reviewed by MWM and members of the inner circle.
Haven't looked up Don's take on it in the Mongoose book yet, but I do recall it being mentioned. It's also in several of the FFE compilations It's just that none has ever really correlated and collected all of the info as we are doing.
Will you now be questioning everything I do or only select files? I did agree to be mercilessly edited. I can accept that if it's your prerogative.
I am fine with your edits and changes, but I greatly prefer if you don't remove content and research. Rancke has piles of it here at the wiki. I use his stuff, plus Don's, plus others to collect it all so that it can later be presented to MWM for canon review. Check out the collected research I have been putting together on Jump Bridges or the Jump Drive for examples of it coming together. It will be questioned, but it is progress. and beats digging through 200+ references. The citations will follow as I dig them out. Until then, I am digging through thirty years of my own and others' notes, including many mutual acquaintances.
Just adds more work when I go back to fill in the blanks and update to add more research and whatever your latest style preference is. I am very glad that the style manual is moving along. Appreciate what you are doing for it. I go out of my way to follow your authority and define what you want... You didn't leave instructions for many things. We are exploring them together.
After more than two years now, I do get tremendous amounts done and have steadily been completing projects, even offering to help you with your goals for the wiki.
Part of the process of research for me is mapping out things, what is there and is missing, to give all of us someplace to start. Then I start adding references and citations as I dig through the materials for projects for FFE and others.

Hrm, according to the diff the only thing I removed was two headers, combining the two sentences into one paragraph, and the unused Base Worlds template. I changed the word "network" to "station" to better reflect the nature of the summary. And since we don't have any canon source references listed I changed the {{LE}} to {{LEN}}.
One of the advantages of a wiki is it keeps a complete history of all edits to every page. If you feel that the page has been too aggressively edited and important content has been removed, you can always go back through the page history and restore it. See the View History link at the top.
I appreciate all the time and work you have put into the wiki. The organizational pages have made a huge difference in the access. And we're both aware expanding the articles is an ongoing project that we're both in the middle of. The problem here is I tend to focus on a single area (e.g. Deneb Sector or Goods/summary). So if I start changing pages like this it's because either I'm working in the area, or I'm assuming you're not and won't be back to it for a while. I seem to have forgotten your process is a little more wide ranging and may be altering any article at any time.
In any case I'll put the headers and template back. Tjoneslo (talk) 13:03, 21 January 2017 (EST)

It's not a huge deal. I want to collaborate, cooperate, and support you and any others as much as possible. We shouldn't all be isolated islands.
For the record, I consider the whole wiki a work in progress and if I can find something to add, I do. If I get bogged down in one area, I switch subjects so I am continually contributing, not getting bogged down in writers' block.
As Zho Space gets more and more developed, I hope that all of these things will follow. The Third Imperium is really the only developed polity right now. I aim to change that with the help of you and others. And with Marc's full awareness and recognition.
While I appreciate your want to keep all communication here, I think we should exchange text numbers at some point. It will greatly increase the ease and celerity of our communication and I'm always willing to document for you.
I already communicate with most of the active members and we use it to better support each other and collaborate. For instance, Wayne and I coordinate both on and off the wiki. I am also cultivating more volunteers.
One project at a time. I can't wait to get the dictionary pages going.
Thank you, Thomas. Let's work together. We're on the same side.
I also want to see your creature work turn into a reality, not just a work in progress. You have my support in any way I can assist.
