:Yes and no. The GTU and the OTU are alternate universes with a not precisely specified change point somewhere around 1114. Any GT material that describes conditions in the GTU prior to the change point logically applies to the OTU as well. Note: 'GURPS Traveller' is a set of material. 'The OTU' is a game universe. I'm pretty sure that in the OTU, GURPS Traveller wasn't published. So, yes, GT is not part of the OTU ;-). (And neither is any other version of Traveller).
