Notes (2019)[edit]

Since the Ziru Sirkaa and the New Ziru Sirka are the descendants of the original Ziru Sirka, should they be all rolled into one entry? Or, since there were breaks in the continuity, should they remain separate entities and entries in the Wiki?

A separate entry. Feel free to add from previous materials if it adds to the later setting. We try to quote from original publications as much as possible.

  • If you think it should be otherwise, my ears are open and we can figure it out together.
  • And thank you for your hard work!

I'm fine with them being separate entries. Considering the amount of material/data for the Ziru Sirka and the Ziru Sirkaa, it might be too confusing to roll them all together into one. However, I think we should consider offering some sort of link between them. For instance, the Astronavigation Codes table on the First Imperium entry offers readers what amounts to an order of succession. Vilani Hegemony was succeeded by the Ziru Sirka which was later succeeded by the Rule of Man. A major difference however is the lack of a line of continuity between the Ziru Sirka and the two attempts to resurrect it.

I have two thoughts on how this could be achieved.

1) Put a note in the History section along the lines of "After the First Imperium was succeeded by the Second, there were two attempts to restore the Ziru Sirka: During the Second Civil War/Rebellion (see Ziru Sirkaa) and after the Collapse (see New Ziru Sirka)." Doesn't have to be taken verbatim, just proving example text.

OR

2) A "See Also" section which would exist at the same hierarchical level as "History & Background", "Government", etc. I'd see it as the last section before "References and Contributors."

Thoughts?

By all means, I trust your judgment.

  • Do what you think looks best.
  • Either method could work if the writer follows through with the idea.
  • Thanks for doing this research, writing, and helping it come alive.
  • I can provide assistance getting images into your articles or otherwise making sure you get an ally oop.

Should this be merged with the page "Restored Vilani Empire"? BackworldTraveller (talk) 14:23, 13 May 2020 (EDT)
