Ulane Notes (2016)

Why are the Ulane listed here? Aren't they supposed to be fake?

I do not know. I took them from the existing material. I know of the story, but I haven't checked Don's list to see their canonicity yet.

I just looked at the Traveller 5 Second Survey data, and that makes things even more ambiguous. It does include worlds with Ulane sophont codes, but places them in the Union of Harmony instead of the Ulane Hierate. It seems like the T5SS somehow combined those two polities.

Topaz, I've been trying to make sense of it for awhile. I read the old TD journals and it's still confusing. It's practical joke with a multi-decade life... LOL Either way, a little alien creation won't hurt and we can always correct it later. Right now, I've been wanting to expand Don's sophont list and that Non-Human Minor Race page is my creative process. One of us should probably bring this to T5SS.

Whulorigan Research (2016)

  1. External Link: Are there details of things from the book....

Threep is an alternate term for the Tripods according to AotI; they are located on the T5.00 CD-ROM: a picture is found in a separate file on the CD called "T5 Sophont Tripod Basic". Note that the concept appearance is somewhat different than in the AotI diagram.

  • To my knowledge, this is the first mention of them in any published source.

The following are all first-mention (to my knowledge) somewhere on the T5 CDROM:

  1. Plexxan –See T5.00, p.114, 276, 638; (also in AotI)
  2. Qliq (Separate File - "T5 Sophont Qliq Basic")
  3. Schilrathen of Poros 3 –See T5.00, p.368
  4. Tinroa (Native to Shvireeyiyi/Foreven) -See T5.00, p.513, 558
  5. Tripod (Separate File - "T5 Sophont Tripod Basic") = Threep
