There seems to be some as have the view that the Imperium will not permit multi-world polities within its bounds (even within a system, but definitely between systems). The Verba Trading Block is designated as a government in Spinward_Marches_Sector. I realize it is non-canon and I'm not certain whether the impression some have that multi-world/multi-system governments is accurate (or where it would draw from in terms of canonical reference) but I'm equally unclear if there are any canonical incidences of multi-system polities within Imperial space or if there is any canonical reference that suggests such a thing is legitimate in the eyes of the property holder (Marc).

Not saying anything should be done about this immediately, but if anyone happens across a definitve answer on this (or ever gets the chance to ask Marc), it might suggest some changes in any text related to the Verba Trading Block.

My personal suggestion would be: 1. In Spinward_Marches_Sector, do not list the Verba Trading Block as a government. 2. The format for Spinward_Marches_Sector and of sectors generally could probably stand to have someplace to put non-governmental blocks/powers or economic blocks. (Maybe there is one, but didn't see it on the sector description for the Marches. 3. I think that would avoid the perhaps unclear concept of a multi-system polity within Imperial space but would also permit things like trading blocks. (Though there may be objections to those for other trade related points if they add taxation or other fees to interstellar commerce... which some seem to think is precluded).

Anyway, I've raised the issue. There's no need to amend anything at this time unless there is a definitive answer somewhere about whether multi-system polities can exist as governments with Imperial Space. Kaladorn (talk) 01:03, 2 September 2020 (EDT)

You are correct - Refusal to accept Imperial Credits would be illegal and the Verba Trading block would be illegal in Imperial Law. Where are the Marines when you need them? n.b. this was added in 2006. BackworldTraveller (talk) 02:43, 2 September 2020 (EDT)
The (non-canon) section of the article is a direct copy from a RICE paper on Menorb: Menorb. The RICE papers are TNE Era, so the Verba Trading Block only exists after the Fall of the Imperium. Yes, this isn't cleanly marked in either this article or in the Spinward Marches one. Tjoneslo (talk) 07:22, 2 September 2020 (EDT)
