In the already cited "William H. Keith Jr., J. Andrew Keith. Flare Star (Steve Jackson Games, 2004), 12-14." mention is made on page 4, under the heading "The Lifeboat" that they have twelve appendages of various sizes arranged around the fleshy hub of their disc-shaped bodies. Additionally, there are no legs on their ventral surface and it is speculated that they glide or undulate for movement.
