The MJn reference in this article isn't to MegaJoule. It is a formula for the Jump Drive capacitor size. 0.005 * M (Mass of ship in tons) * Jn (Jump drive number) = Capacitor size in tons. Each ton holds 36 Energy Points (EP). All of this is specific to the Book 5 interpretation of the Black Globes. None of the other versions of Traveller mention Black Globes except T5 which uses a completely different resolution mechanism (the whole ship get hotter).

MJn isn't MegaJoules (2018)

The MJn reference in this article isn't to MegaJoule. It is a formula for the Jump Drive capacitor size. 0.005 * M (Mass of ship in tons) * Jn (Jump drive number) = Capacitor size in tons. Each ton holds 36 Energy Points (EP). All of this is specific to the Book 5 interpretation of the Black Globes. None of the other versions of Traveller mention Black Globes except T5 which uses a completely different resolution mechanism (the whole ship get hotter).
