Monitor j-0 or J-0? (2015)

Jmattera, where does the monitor summary ship list live? It now reads j-0 and should read J-0. I have no idea where to make corrections. Please help. Thanks.

Attn: User:Tjoneslo: I'd rather not mess with your template and mess it up.
- Jmattera (talk) 17:19, 17 February 2015 (EST)

I fixed the template to read "Jump N" to be clearer. If you have a better suggestion post it here and I'll update the template.

What do we do about ships like the Kishkii?

  • Where they are not the class leader, but do have a page of their own. If we use the template, the ship gets listed. If we include the ship information on the class leader pages it loses visibility.
- Jmattera (talk) 17:33, 17 February 2015 (EST)

We eventually created a Category called "Named Ship" for specific named ships of a class.

There are a couple of solutions we can apply, depending upon preferences.
1) Create a copy of the {{InfoboxShip}} template with a different name, but the same information. The listings are tied to the specific template, and removing the template (and replacing it with another) causes it to be removed from the list.
2) Replace the "Category: Ship" with another like "Category: Ship Instance" (please choose a better name). The listing also relies upon the page being in the specific category, and if not, it is removed from the list.

This is Ron. I love the ship fixes and reclassifications, the new codes will take some getting used to, a lot of errors are just my lack of consistency in style and format over time, I am too random with ships

When I build new stuff how do those ships get added to the lists?

- Ronald B. Kline, Jr. (talk) 12:13, 23 May 2018 (EDT)

To the Template:Ship summary list? The lists are updated from the data in the Template:InfoboxShip. The list is cached, so you may need to use the "more > purge cache" option.
