Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance.

The TC17 Deckert class Patrol Cruiser is a warship.

Description (Specifications)

The vessel has a fully streamlined conical structure hull. It is fitted with fuel scoops and fuel purification plant allowing it to perform wilderness ocean refueling. These fully streamlined conical structures can land on planetary surfaces. They carry a single squadron of heavier, dual environment fighters for close air support of their marine platoon. The 54 marines can use drop capsules to attack from orbit, and have a company of attack speeders. The single occupancy staterooms are for greater crew comfort on longer duration deployments, but allow for 101 additional troops to be carried, 113 if the 12 lowberths are filled as well, which constitutes a reinforced marine company. The design suffers from less drive performance, no computer back ups, no evasive agility and a smaller missile bay. They dispense with the plasma guns in favor of a more powerful beam laser battery.

Basic Ship Characteristics

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

Basic Ship Characteristics [2]
No. Category Remarks
1. Tonnage The TC17 Deckert class Patrol Cruiser is constructed using a 1,700 Ton hull built in a fully streamlined conical structure configuration. The hull is capable of wilderness ocean refueling.
  • The vessel has three airlocks. The cargo hold is accessed by a large bay doors that also serves to anchor docking clamps for service vehicles.
2. Crew x101 personnel:
  • x11 command, x3 engineering, x5 gunnery, x25 flight, x3 service and xx54 marines in 101 single occupancy staterooms.

Accommodations

  • There are 101 Staterooms.
    • All Staterooms are given over to the crew. All crew quarters are single occupancy.
  • There are twelve Low Berths.

Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems.

  • There are internal monitoring and security systems throughout the vessel. Individual sections of the hull can be sealed off.
  • There are multiple emergency lockers.
3. Performance The vessel mounts a Jump-2 drive, a Maneuver-2 drive, and an upgraded fusion Power Plant-2, giving performance of Jump-2 and 2-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 0 and an emergency agility of 2. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for a Jump-2 and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration. It is fitted with drop tanks, should extended range operations be required.
  • The engineering section has a main control room.
  • The jump drive utilizes a lanthanum hull grid.
  • The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4. Electronics Adjacent to the bridge is a Model/5 fib computer.
  • There are multiple workstations and control points throughout the vessel.
  • The vessel is fitted with communications equipment, a basic sensor array, and has an avionics suite. They have system range laser, microwave and radio communication arrays.
5. Hardpoints x17 hardpoints.
  • The listed weapons systems are typical for the class.
6. Armament TC17 Deckert class Patrol Cruiser are fitted with weapon systems for naval service.
7. Defenses Factor-3 hull armor.
  • x2 Triple sand caster turrets firing as a single Factor-5 battery.
8. Craft x10 20T TC02A Broken Sunrise class Fleet Interceptors
9. Fuel Treatment The vessel has internal fuel tankage of 374 Tons. They are delivered with a new set of optional jump 2 drop tanks, which can be fitted as needed.
  • The hull is fitted with fuel scoops.
  • The vessel is equipped with a fuel purification plant that can refine all onboard fuel in 8 hours: the plant is operated and maintained by the engineering crew.
10. Cost The basic cost of the vessel is MCr1,039.428 (base)
MCr831.542 (qty)
  • Architects Fee: MCr10.394
11. Construction Time 204 weeks as standard, 163 weeks in bulk.
  • Build times can be reduced by mass production and the efficiencies such processes generate, by increased financing, and by allotting additional yard resources and facilities to the construction contract.
12. Comments Standard cargo capacity amounts to 10.0 Tons.
  • The cargo hold can be sealed and has independent life support and environmental systems.
  • Sections of the hold may be isolated if desired and can be provided with specialized environmental conditions, typically refrigeration.
