Suleiman

Description (Planetology)

Suleiman is a tide-locked world, but the night face is heated by atmospheric circulation, leaving the day face Earthlike and pleasant. Meanwhile, the planet’s atmosphere and unusually powerful magnetic field protect the surface from the star's radiation and energetic particles.

History & Background (Dossier)

Suleiman is a high-population world located in the Azaremiid Cluster within Suleiman Subsector of the Solomani Rim. The system is a member of the Imperium and contains a Naval Base. Suleiman is the subsector capital.

Suleiman has been inhabited since Vilani times. Early in the Rule of Man Terran immigrants, mosly from Turkey and central Asia, arrived to colonize the world. Early in the Long Night, Aslan ihatei from some distance to Spinward arrived and currently 10% of the Suleiman's population are culturally assimilated Aslan.

The Vilani and Aslan communities suffered badly during the Solomani period, and reconstruction following the Solomani Rim War has been difficult. Many humans have embraced the Authentic movement, particularly those of Turkish heritage. Meanwhile many Aslan are showing renewed interest in Fteir and the traditions of the Hierate.
