History & Background (Dossier)
Strend is a high population world in the Menorial Subsector of Trojan Reach. It is the capital of the Strend Cluster and has the highest Tech Level in the subsector, at E (14).
The Strend mainworld is a marvel of engineering and science combined in tribute to thousands of years of Terran culture. Genetic and cybernetic engineering are commonplace, and Strend cybernetics are both highly advanced and surprisingly beautiful. The world is under the iron-fisted rule of a group known as Les Mecanismes. They are never seen by the populace, but they are rumoured to be cyborgs over two hundred years old.
There is an underclass of unaugmented on Strend known as les miserables who are restricted to the sublevels of the floating cities and to a few slums on the surface. Many are shipped offworld to labor in the colonies of Sable, Paques or Marseilles.
The orbital Bastille station is the the home of the formidable Strend Navy, and numbers among its fleet the flagship, the Chevalier.
