The Starfarer class Scout is a TL–10 Scout Vessel.

Description

The Starfarer-class Scout was designed for service with the Bain Defense Squadron, the space force of Bain (Spica 0909), a world lying in Spica Sector and a member of the Solomani Confederation. The vessel mounts a triple missile turret, giving it a relatively hard punch for its size, but it entirely on its inherent agility and excellent computer for protection. The maneuver drive and power plant were reduced in size to fit into the hull. It is equipped with fuel scoops and a purification plant for wilderness refueling.

Basic Ship Characteristics

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. • There are two emergency lockers.
3. Performance The vessel mounts a Jump-1 drive, a Maneuver-5 drive, and a Power Plant-5, giving performance of Jump-1 and 5-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 3 and an emergency agility of 5. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for two consecutive Jump-1s and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration.
  • The engineering section has a main control room.
  • The jump drive utilizes a hull grid.
  • The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4. Electronics Adjacent to the bridge is a Model/4 fib computer: No backup computer is installed.
