Squad

A unit sized between a Team and a Platoon.

A Squad is typically commanded by a Sergeant.

Squads are routinely deployed by the Imperial Army as part of a Platoon. The Imperial Marines often field Squad sized units (referred to as Sections) as Ship's Troops.

n.b. Squads have no integral logistical support and are not capable of sustained deployments away from such support.

As the unit size one smaller than a Platoon, this is a long-standing standard definition that has been around since pre-space days.
