[[Specifications]] are used in the ''description'' portion of an [[AAB]] entry.
* They are used to describe mostly objective data, typically a vehicle or ship performance data or hard scientific data such as [[astrography]] or [[planetology]]. 
* Information data blocks are often featured in this area, especially [[universal code]]s.
* More subjective or sophontilogical data is described in the [[Dossier]].

== Description ([[Specifications]]) ==

[[Dossier]]s in the [[AAB]] typically describe history or background relating to [[sophont]]ic matters, which is to say the knowledge relating to technologically sophisticated species typically apply to personnel and events in a conventional sense. == History & Background ([[Dossier]]) ==
The [[AAB]] adopted the specifications system early in the time of the [[Vilani Imperium]], and all of its succeeding [[empire]]s have kept the system. It has a relatively standard format although many administrators over the millennia have modified or otherwise edited the files and databases, leaving a not perfectly standard set of data. 

The [[Library Data]] used on [[Ship’s Computer]]s at and [[starport]] libraries may diverge from the data collections at [[AAB]] [[Data Repository]] installations. <ref name=ms/>
