Sopol is a pre-agricultural, rich garden world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet at a billion sophonts in population size.
- Garden worlds are known for their near-ideal utopian environments conducive to most sophonts, plants, animals, and other forms of life.
- It is a pre-agricultural world with an environment suitable for large scale agricultural and livestock industries that have not yet been widely developed.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Abidal Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
Description / Astrography & Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data
Nasvadak-Sopol System
The primary is Nasvadak, a white subgiant star. It has a luminosity of 84.6 Sols, a mass of 4.8 Sols and a diameter of 3.284 million km. The inner system consists of (II) a dense rocky planetoid belt, (III) a vacuum worldlet, (IV) a vacuum inner world, (V) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (VI) a trace atmosphere worldlet – orbital position (I) is empty. (VII-I) Sopol, designated the mainworld, and (VII-II) Polos, a dense atmosphere hospitable world, have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (VIII) a thin atmosphere iceworld, (IX) a ringed large gas giant, (X) a large gas giant, and (XI) a small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
(VII-I) Sopol and (VII-II) Polos both lie within the habitable zone. Both worlds are physically similar.
Mainworld Data
(VII-I) Sopol
(VII-I) Sopol is designated the mainworld. It orbits Nasvadak at a mean distance of 4.8 AU (718 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 4 years 292 days and a rotation period of 43.5 hours. The axial tilt is 12 degrees. Sopol has a diameter of 11,303 km, a density of 4.83 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.75 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 1.92 bar and a composition of 79% nitrogen, 20% oxygen, and 1% argon, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 69% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 1m. Mean surface temperature: 26°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems, driven by the star and the oceans, sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Geography & Topography
Total surface area: 401 million km², Land surface area: 124 million km², Water surface area: 277 million km².There are three major continents, one in the northern hemisphere and two in the southern hemisphere. Many large islands and archipelagos dot the seas. The oceans are deep and have large tidal ranges.
Secondary World Data
(VII-II) Polos
(VII-II) Polos (UWP H686435-5) is designated a dense atmosphere hospitable world. It orbits Nasvadak at a mean distance of 5.8 AU (868 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 6 years 137 days and a rotation period of 28.5 hours. The axial tilt is 15 degrees. Polos has a diameter 10,104 km, a density of 5.12 g/cm³, and a surface gravity 0.73 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 1.79 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen, 19% oxygen, and 1% argon, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 57% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 1m. Mean surface temperature: 8°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems, driven by the star and the oceans, sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Geography & Topography
Total surface area: 321 million km², Land surface area: 138 million km², Water surface area: 183 million km².There are three major continents, one in the northern hemisphere and two in the southern hemisphere. Many large islands and archipelagos dot the seas. The oceans are deep and have large tidal ranges.
Native Lifeforms
Both Sopol and Polos have extensive, abundant native life, with organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions power the processes of atmospheric renewal.

World Starport
Sopol has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
