Sopol is a pre-agricultural, rich garden world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet at a billion sophonts in population size.
- Garden worlds are known for their near-ideal utopian environments conducive to most sophonts, plants, animals, and other forms of life.
- It is a pre-agricultural world with an environment suitable for large scale agricultural and livestock industries that have not yet been widely developed.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Abidal Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
Description / Astrography & Planetology
- This world lies within the Rissa Gateway region.

System Data
The primary is Nasvadak, a white subgiant star. The inner zone consists of (II) a dense planetoid belt, (III, IV) two small rocky vacuum worlds, and (V) an exotic atmosphere world – orbital position (I) is empty. (VI) Sopol and its large companion world orbit within the habitable zone. The outer zone consists of (VII) a rocky vacuum world, (VIII) a small world with a thin atmosphere, (IX, X) two large gas giants and (XI) a final small gas giant. All of the gas giants and all of the atmosphere-retaining worlds have families of satellites.
Mainworld Data
Sopol is the major component of a binary planet system. (VIa) Sopol and (VIb) Polos, its companion world, orbit their barycenter at a mean separation of 220,000 km. The pair orbit Nasvadak at 5.1 AU, within the system's habitable zone. Each world retains a small vacuum moon in a relatively close orbit.
(VIa) Sopol
Sopol has a diameter 11400 km, an above average density, and a surface gravity 0.93 G. It retains a nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere rated as dense with a mean surface pressure of 2.1 bar. Oceans of liquid water cover 69% of the surface.
Sopol Geography & Topography
There are three major continents, one in the northern hemisphere and two in the southern hemisphere. Many large islands and archipelagos dot the seas. The oceans are deep and have large tidal ranges.
(VIb) Polos
Polos, UWP H686335-5 has a diameter 10300 km, an above average density, and a surface gravity 0.85 G. It retains a nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere rated as dense with a mean surface pressure of 1.8 bar. Oceans of liquid water cover 57% of the surface.
Polos Geography & Topography
There are three major continents, one in the northern hemisphere and two in the southern hemisphere. Many large islands and archipelagos dot the seas. The oceans are deep and have large tidal ranges.
Native Lifeforms

World Starport
Sopol has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Technology Level
Sopol possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
