Sharurshid originated with the merchant class or Badenkii and its interstellar trade and was one of the three Vilani bureaux.

Description (Portfolio)[edit]

Sharurshid (Anglic: Sharurshid) is one of the thirteen Imperial MegaCorporations in operation in 1116.

Commercial Competencies[edit]

  • Antiquities Trading
  • Interstellar Shipping & Trade
  • Luxury Goods Trading
  • Speculation

A Vilani (Anglic: Vilani) trade and speculation corporation, with very little manufacturing capability, Sharurshid (Anglic: Sharurshid) trades in luxury goods from all parts of the Imperium and many areas beyond.

Ziru Sirka (Anglic: Ziru Sirka)[edit]

During the Ziru Sirka (Anglic: Ziru Sirka), Sharurshid (Anglic: Sharurshid) produced and used the Hero class Far Trader in great quantities. Following the Third Interstellar War, Sharurshid (Anglic: Sharurshid)’s central management was able to construct large numbers of the new design Agidda (Anglic: Agidda) class Attack Cruiser.

Governance & Organization[edit]

The Sharurshid Trust is the overall owning concern of the Sharurshid (Anglic: Sharurshid) megacorporation. The Trust maintains significant holdings, beyond the 46% ownership of the corporation itself, which it has delegated administrative responsibilities for to Sharurshid (Anglic: Sharurshid) corporate leadership. Therefore, it is easy to confuse what holdings are held by Sharurshid (Anglic: Sharurshid) the company and which by the owning Sharurshid (Anglic: Sharurshid) Trust. The Sharurshid (Anglic: Sharurshid) Trust is held by the Vilani (Anglic: Vilani) Badenkii (Anglic: Badenkii), the social class descended from wealthy Industrial magnates on pre-spaceflight Vland (Anglic: Vland).

  • The Sharurshid Trust Administration Division: is responsible for the administration of Sharurshid Trust holdings, except for the ownership responsibilities of the corporation itself.

Stockholders[edit]

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Sharurshid, Makhidkarun, and Naasirka were originally regional government agencies providing a broad range of services to the worlds of the First Imperium. When that empire fell (collapsed), the three bureaux transformed themselves into quasi-private companies performing much the same services as before. Over the course of centuries, each has expanded into the others’ territories, and all three are strong competitors throughout the Third Imperium.

  • The company originated as one of the three Vilani bureaux. It grew with the merchant class and interstellar trade. Sharurshid descended from the Badenkii (wealthy Industrial magnates on pre-spaceflight Vland).

Ziru Sirka[edit]

Of the three bureaus, it was the one most likely to be encountered by Terrans. This was partly because it engaged in the business most likely to get adventurers into the First Imperium -– buying and selling -- but also because it was in control of the space closest to Terra. It was actually fortunate for the Terran Confederation that Sharurshid was its neighbour. As the shangarim most accustomed to commerce and transport, it was the likeliest to accept Terran overtures to trade. While relations could be frosty at times, the potential for profitable transactions always brought Sharurshid back to the table. If Terra had been next to Makhidkarun, with its more authoritarian style, things might have been very different.

Worlds & Sectors (Astrography)[edit]

Core Sector[edit]

In Cadion Subsector of Core Sector, Sharurshid has installed a deep space refuelling depot in the empty space between Double Star, Lia and Patu.

Dagudashaag Sector[edit]

Sharurshid has a presence on Ekhor for the sustainable production and export of infertile Tonuetiuhl sunflowers throughout the Imperium.

Deneb Sector[edit]

Sharurshid is a voice for restraint in politically volatile Deneb, and is known to apply economic pressure to dukes who allow disruption of trade to interfere with business. The company doesn't favour any candidates for sector duke (an ongoing obsession for the duchies in Deneb), but does lobby for the appointment of one, as a more unified sector would mean more stable trading conditions. Sharurshid has a major regional office at Deneb (the system), although few of its ships travel there.

Reft Sector[edit]

Sharurshid operates a trans-Rift shipping service, trading a little in the Islands Cluster along the way. This route is primarily concerned with bringing rare goods across the Rift from Spinward Marches Sector and the non-Imperial territories beyond. There are persistent rumours that a trade lane has been forged up to Foreven Sector, and that somewhere there is a neutral port where goods from the Darrian Confederation, the Sword Worlds Confederation, the Aslan Hierate, various powers in Beyond Sector and even the Zhodani Consulate are traded.

Solomani Rim Sector[edit]

The name of Sharurshid has a long history on the Rim, as the Vilani bureau of that name had primary responsibility for governing the Rim Province in First Imperium days. Although Sharurshid is often a target for pro-Solomani agitators, it has a strong presence on the Rim, including extensive operations on Terra.
