The Serpent Main is an astrographic feature primarily located in Ley Sector.
Description / Specifications
This main covers 21 systems in the Outreaumer and Diamond-Prince Subsectors of the Ley Sector, 19 of which are Imperial worlds, 1 (Makidaan) is an Imperial Client State, and Gashuki is an independent system.
History & Background / Dossier
The highest Tech level is F and population is 5 Billion, both at Ohasset, the Subsector Capital for the Outreaumer Subsector. The main takes its alternate name, the Ohasset Main, from this important world on its spinward end, and the next highest Tech Level Gashuki is also of importance, providing the only Class A starport on the trailing end. Ohasset builds huge purpose-built freighters to feed its 5 Billion on a vacuum world, that must venture past the main, but the main benefits from the this vast agricultural import, while its feeds Ohasset with raw materials, mostly in the form of metals and other mining products, including the plentiful diamonds and other gems in the Kam system, from which the Diamond-Prince Subsector reportedly got its name.
