Selasia is a preindustrial, moderate population water world with over a hundred million, but not yet at a billion sophonts in population size.
- Its surface is 90% or more covered in an ocean of water.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Bright Conclave in the Alasim Subsector of Halcyon Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.
- This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.

System data
Monsado, the system primary, is an ordinary yellow main sequence star lying at the center of the Alasim Cluster. Monsadi retains a family of two small inner rocky bodies (I, II), two large gas giants (IV, V), a large exotic atmosphere world (VI), an icy planetoid belt (VII), two small gas giants (VIII, IX), and two outer cold rocky bodies (X, XI). Many of the worlds in the system retain families of satellites.
Mainworld data
(III) Selasia. Orbital distance 0.8 AU.
(IIIa) Taffar. A large moon orbiting Selasia at 8 diameters (102,000 km). UWP F633668-B.
Mainworld geography and topography
Selasia has a total surface area of approximately 510 million km² and is almost entirely covered in a world-ocean of liquid water. The land surface area is approximately 25 million km² (or around 5% of the total surface area). This land area is made up of scattered islands and isolated archipelagos, largely of volcanic origin. Only a relatively small part of that available land surface is desirable: some islands are environmentally hostile, some have difficult terrain such as mountains, some are geologically active, and many areas of "land" are subject to Selasia's extreme tides and regularly flood. In total, the usable surface area of the world is considered to be somewhere around 7 million km² (or around 1.2% of the total surface area). Both poles have small icecaps.

History & Background (Dossier)
- Selasia is the location of the University of Selasia.
- Selasia is the location of the Alasim-Bright Memorial Hospital.
World starport
Selasia has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World technology level
Selasia possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World government
Selasia is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.
