System Data

Perdanu-Sarunt System

The primary is Perdanu, an ordinary yellow-white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 2.584 Sols, a mass of 1.196 Sols, and a diameter of 1.742 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere worldlet, (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (IV) a standard atmosphere hospitable world. (V) Sarunt orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VI) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (VII) a very thin atmosphere iceworld, (VIII) a large gas giant, (IX) a dense stony planetoid belt, (X) a ringed large gas giant, and (XI) a vacuum worldlet form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Leutik Subsystem

The companion is Leutik, a dim red subdwarf star that orbits Perdana at a mean distance of 151 AU (orbital position (XII), 22.6 billion km). It has a luminosity of 0.0074 Sols, a mass of 0.134 Sols, and a diameter of 212,000 km. (I) a dense icy planetoid belt, and (II) a small gas giant that follows a highly elliptical orbit form the outer system. The gas giant retains satellites.

Mainworld Data

(V) Sarunt

(V) Sarunt is designated the mainworld. It orbits Perdanu at a mean distance of 2.63 AU (393.5 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 3 years 329 days and a rotation period of 29.5 hours. The axial tilt is 16 degrees. Sarunt has a diameter of 11,103 km, a density of 5.22 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.82 G. The world is flexed by tidal forces and is geologically very active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 1.79 bar and a composition of 79% nitrogen (N2), 20% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The atmosphere is not considered tainted but contains high levels of sulfur compounds of volcanic origin that give the air a distinctive aroma, particularly in low-lying areas. Approximately 71% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.75m. Mean surface temperature: 27°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the seas sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellites

Sarunt retains two natural satellites, a cratered vacuum worldlet named Batu and a thin atmosphere hospitable world named Gede:

(Va) Batu (UWP Y200000-0, orbiting at 6 Diameters/67,000 km)
(Vb) Gede (UWP Y544000-0, orbiting at 25 Diameters/280,000 km)

Mainworld geography and topography

Total surface area: 387 million km², Water surface area: 275 million km², Land surface area: 112 million km². The climate is generally warm, uncomfortably so for humans. The equatorial regions of Sarunt are generally arid. Much of the rest of the land surface area is covered in dense forests and jungles.

Native lifeforms

The hot hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) (within the H– region of the inner system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and moisture. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

Sarunt, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal. Many organisms tend towards very large sizes.

  • Batu, Sarunt's warm marginally hospitable outer moon has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
