System Data
Sarum System
The primary is an unnamed hot blue-white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 75.2 Sols, a mass of 3.22 Sols, and a diameter of 4.063 million km. The inner system consists of (III) a vacuum inner world, (IV) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (V) a dense stony planetoid belt, and (VI) a thin atmosphere hospitable world – orbital positions (I) and (II) are empty. (VII) Sarum orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VIII) a small gas giant forms the outer system. Few of the worlds retain satellites.
Yellow Subdwarf Subsystem
The companion is an unnamed yellow subdwarf star lying approximately 1,620 AU from the primary It has a luminosity of 0.186 Sols, a mass of 0.528 Sols, and a diameter of 765,000 km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere worldlet. (II) a thin atmosphere hospitable world orbits within the habitable zone. (III) a sparse icy planetoid belt and (IV) a small ice giant form the outer system. Few of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(VIII) Sarum
(VIII) Sarum is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 9.38 AU (1.403 billion km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 16 years 3 days and a rotation period of 23.5 hours. The axial tilt is 31 degrees. Sarum has a diameter of 14,608 km, a density of 5.48 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.14 G. The world is geologically very active. Its atmosphere is rated as Exotic, with a mean surface pressure of 0.85 bar and a composition of 95% nitrogen (N2), 3% carbon dioxide (CO2), 1% abiotic oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 28% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.2m. Mean surface temperature: 55°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the seas surge across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Mainworld geography and topography
Total surface area: 670 million km², Land surface area: 482 million km², Water surface area: 188 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Sarum has native life, entirely consisting of extremophile single-celled cyanobacteria-equivalents that can be found in almost every ecological niche across the world. Their metabolic functions are gradually changing the atmospheric composition.
