Sarudis is a low-population vacuum world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Sarudis Subsector of Far Home Sector.

Astrography and Planetology

System Data

Manjazar-Sarudis System

The primary is Manjazar, a swollen red bright giant star. It has a luminosity of 6180 Sols, a mass of 15.2 Sols, and a diameter of 726.3 million km – the corona of the star extends to 2.43 AU, within orbital position (V). The inner system consists of (VI) a dense stony planetoid belt, (VII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (VIII) an insidious atmosphere bigworld, (IX) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (X) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, and (XI) Sarudis, designated the mainworld. None of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data

(XI) Sarudis

(XI) Sarudis is designated the mainworld. It orbits Manjazar at a mean distance of 81.4 AU (12.2 billion km), within the H– region of the inner system. It has an orbital period of 188 years 136 days and a rotation period of 93 hours. The axial tilt is 16 degrees. Sarudis has a diameter of 4,517 km, a density of 4.27 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.28 G. The world is geologically inert. Its atmosphere is rated as Vacuum. The world has no hydrosphere. Mean surface temperature: 173°C.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

Total surface area: 64 million km².

Native Lifeforms

Manjazar-Sarudis System

No native life is known to exist within the system.

History & Background (Dossier)

No information yet available.

World starport

Sarudis has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level

Sarudis possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World government

Sarudis is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
