The S2 class Sopolian Tracked APC is a combatant groundcraft.

Description (Specifications)

S2 class Sopolian Tracked APC, TL-6: The vehicle is one of a family of military vehicles on the planet Sopol (world). They are sealed with a fire suppression system and air conditioning in addition to having over pressure versus chemical / bacteriological / and nuclear threats. It carries a squad of eight troopers, and they are armed with an unstabilized, HMG and a TAC missile in the turret. The vehicle's 8.4m³ tracked suspension combined with a low ground pressure ensures that it will never get stuck off road. It is lighter and faster than the S1 class Sopolian Tracked Cargo Carrier from which it is derived.

Following the Imperial Army and IISS Universal Vehicle Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. History & Background (Dossier)

Designed and manufactured at TL–6, these vehicles were commissioned and license built for the certain military clients on Sopol (world), in the Abidal Subsector of the Halcyon Sector in the Distant Fringe. The vehicle's three man crew have their hands full to say the least. Some of these vehicles have found their way into other military inventories. Some have been captured in battle and some have been sold on the open market. They are not specifically designed for desert combat, due to the lack of a intake compression. They are popular because of their bullet-proof armor and form the backbone of Sopolian Regimental Combat Teams.
