History & Background (Dossier)

Rrourag (Knoellighz 2507) A85A300-C Lo Ni Wa / Ht has only one draw to this Water world. A single barely-submerged island rests just under the waves on a small tectonic plate that is currently undergoing subduction beneath another. Earthquakes are frequent and dangerous to the unwary watercraft or mining team trying desperately to keep the mining operation here staffed. For this rocky reef has a dense deposit of lanthanum that is slowly being consumed by the larger, nearby tectonic plate. The Prospecting Vargr here will do anything to fully tap out the deposit, even taking imported slaves from Tuekoungoull (Knoellighz 3110) via the chain of Corsair Bases in Ourdzoeg Subsector. The captured, Vargr slaves are redressed in secondhand workers uniforms and ‘contracted’ to the desperate Prospecting teams. As long as the lanthanum continues to flow, the Prospectors still manage to cut a profit by selling their hauls to worlds such as Negarrghoeoegong and Tegkurzong (Knoellighz 2510 and 2810 respectively) who are ignorant of the slave mining operation as much as the Prospectors. Seven thousand Naval and colonists staff the contra-gravitic Starport and its top-floor Naval Base.

The remaining 2000 Vargr comprise Prospectors, slaving Corsairs and Vargr slave merchants and their flesh and fur stock disguised as imported workforce to mine the disappearing lanthanum. Since the surface teams are not allowed to mingle with the high-flying Starport, the polity remains ignorant of the illegal slave trade.

Rrourag system has five Gas Giants and is a favorable stop for wilderness refueling especially by needy fleet ships of the Jump-1 main’s Charismatic Great of the Democracy of Greats also served by the local, High-Tech Naval Base. The captured White Dwarf star is slowly catching up to a revolution, collision course with the outermost Gas Giant. Astronomers calculate an impact in less than a million years.
