Roye is a nonindustrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.

• The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
• As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Nightrim Subsector of Reaver's Deep Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

The Roye planetary system has seven major bodies with the only permanently inhabited world being Roye.

• There are two gas giants and no planetoid belts in the system.
• Roye itself has three satellites, Dia, Gaz and Trice.

History & Background (Dossier)

The only independent world of the Nightrim Subsector, Roye lies just beyond the Third Imperium border. A water world with a small population, Roye values its independence above all else.

Population

The population of 22,540 is mixed Vilani-Solomani stock.

Most of the population lives in the single underwater city called Royeston, with a few others living in the orbital high port or in family-run submarine businesses. The city itself is anchored to an underwater shelf near the planet's equator in approximately 300 meters of water.
