General Description

The Ronix class Asteroid Patrol Boat is used by the Royal Peladon Navy, a branch of the military of the Kingdom of Peladon in Theta Borealis Sector. It serves as a Destroyer Escort. The hull is roughly sculpted into a tapered, generally conical shape but it is not streamlined. It has large internal fuel tanks allowing it to perform multiple jumps. The craft is fast and relatively agile and mounts a range of weaponry enabling it to deal with a variety of threats. It carries a small launch that is used to harvest fuel.

The hull is unstreamlined and cannot operate in anything denser than Trace atmospheres without risking catastrophic structural damage. There are multiple airlocks located around the vessel. 2.	Crew	x18 personnel. x3 Officers. x15 Enlisted. Accommodations There are 9 Staterooms. All quarters are double occupancy. Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems. There are internal monitoring and security systems throughout the vessel. Individual sections of the hull can be sealed off. There are multiple emergency lockers.
3.	Performance	The vessel mounts a Jump-1 drive, a Maneuver-5 drive, and a Power Plant-5, giving performance of Jump-1 and 5-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 4 and an emergency agility of 5. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for three consecutive Jump-1s and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration. The engineering section has a main control room. The jump drive creates a jump bubble around the vessel. The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4.	Electronics	Adjacent to the bridge is a Model/4fib computer: the vessel has a backup Model/4fib computer. There are multiple workstations and control points throughout the vessel. The vessel is fitted with communications equipment and a standard sensor array. It is fitted with backup commo and sensor systems. It has a transponder unit that can be deactivated on command. It is equipped with a sophisticated ECM package.

6.	Armament	The normal weapons fit-out for a Ronix class is: x1 triple Beam Laser turret, forming its own battery. x2 dual Plasma Gun turrets, each forming a separate battery. x4 triple Missile turrets, typically grouped into one battery of 4 linked turrets.
7.	Defenses	The natural structure of the planetoid hull gives the vessel a High Guard armor rating of 3. x2 triple Sandcaster turrets, typically grouped into one battery of 2 linked turrets. The vessel is not fitted with screens or other passive defensive systems.
8.	Craft	Flight Section x1 15-Ton Launch. The Launch is housed in a dedicated hanger: the hanger can be sealed and has a total volume of 15 Tons.
9.	Fuel Treatment	The vessel has internal fuel tankage of 315 Tons. The vessel is equipped with a fuel purification plant that can refine all onboard fuel in a few hours: the plant is operated and maintained by the engineering crew.

History & Background (Dossier)

The Ronix class serves with the Royal Peladon Navy: there are ten examples currently in service. They operate within the territory of the Kingdom, flying the flag and enforcing the will of the Throne. They are typically assigned to systems that lack their own system defense squadrons. There is an infamous event involving a leaked fragmentary transcript of an RF intercept of an encounter between a hostile craft and one of these vessels.
