System Data

Elmor-Resulos System

The primary is Elmor, a hot white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 30.8 Sols, a mass of 2.38 Sols, and a diameter of 2.894 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (II) a trace atmosphere inner world, (III) a vacuum worldlet, (IV) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (V) a dense atmosphere stormworld, and (VI) a sparse stony planetoid belt. (VII) Ungar, a ringed large gas giant, orbits within the habitable zone: (VIIb) Resulos is its second satellite and is designated the mainworld. (VIII) a small gas giant, (IX) a large gas giant, and (X) a small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

(VII) Ungar

(VII) Ungar is a ringed large gas giant that orbits Elmor at a mean distance of 4.97 AU (743.5 million km), within the habitable zone, and has an orbital period of 7 years 67 days. It has a diameter of 87,000 km and an atmosphere consisting of 92% hydrogen (H₂), 8% helium (He), and less than 1% methane (CH₄), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH₃), water vapor (H₂O) and other trace gases. It is a banded brown-tan colour and is dotted with white storm clouds. It retains a family of three major satellites.

(VIIb) Resulos

(VIIb) Resulos is the second of the four major moons of (VII) Ungar and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 9 diameters (785,000 km), with an orbital period of 65 days 18 hours: it is tidally locked to Ungar. The axial tilt is 3 degrees relative to Ungar. Resulos has a diameter of 5,522 km, a density of 6.07 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.48 G. Tidal stresses caused by the gravitational pull of Ungar cause occasional geological activity. Resulos retains an atmosphere rated as Very Thin, with a surface pressure of 0.33 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen (N₂), 19% oxygen (O₂), and 1% argon (Ar), carbon dioxide (CO₂), water vapor (H₂O), ozone (O₃), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Around 22% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 26°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Warm and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and minor weather systems driven by the star cross the globe.

Native Lifeforms

The very hot stormworld lying in orbital position (V) (within the inner system) has primitive hyperthermophile native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that thrive in the harsh conditions. Their metabolic functions maintain the atmospheric balance.

Resulos has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
