Description (Specifications)

Founded during the last days of the Long Night as a raider kingdom, the eponymous Raidermarch became a powerful and militarized state in its part of Crucis Margin Sector. Becoming a lot more respectable in later centuries, it eventually reverted to being predatory, and in time collapsed. The Grand Duchy of Kalradin, having been long established on Kalradin, then expanded to claim many of the Raidermarch worlds.

History & Background (Dossier)

For several centuries, the Raidermarch was almost apologetic about its origins, and generous in trade and foreign assistance. It seemed determined to be seen as a power for stability and order in the region. However, from around 750, something changed. Rumours began to circulate that the naval vessels of the Raidermarch were using commerce-protection as a cover for piracy.

Despite a vigorous clash with forces backed by the Glimmerdrift Trade Consortium, the Raidermarch came to dominate trade in local systems, charging high tolls for safe passage. Eventually, its reversion to predatory tactics prompted its collapse. Kalradin, with its Imperial-expat culture, filled the void.
