Rachelean Revolts
The Rachelean Revolts (1010-1011) were a major uprising on Pretoria (Deneb 0406), the result of tensions between Vilani and Solomani cultures, and a Vilani racial supremacist movement that took shape amidst these tensions.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The revolt was fomented by the Rachele Society, and resulted in Pretoria being placed under martial law by the Imperial Navy, a state of affairs that persisted for a number of years. The Imperium as a rule does not interfere with local politics, but their intervention was forced when a Scout Base on Saki (Deneb 0306) was destroyed by nuclear weapons.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The security services made many arrests, and attacks dwindled to virtually nothing, but Pretoria's starport was left operating under heavy security. This state of affairs endured for longer than was likely necessary; there were accusations that Pretoria's rivals were attempting to undermine its economy by encouraging the Imperium to extend the state of emergency.
