Queens is a non-agricultural, pre-industrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • Its economy and population are slowly growing and living conditions are expected to improve in the near future barring outside forces.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Standish Subsector of Daibei Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
  • This world was once known as Leander.

System Data[edit]

System:

  • 3 Gas Giants
  • 1 Planetoid Belts
  • 5 Other Worlds

Mainworld Data[edit]

Queens has an Importance rating of -1 (Unimportant).

  • Importance Extension- -1
    • (The Importance Extension (Ix) ranks worlds within a region. It governs the locations of capitals and trade routes. )

Queens has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]

Queens, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

World Starport[edit]

Queens has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Technology Level[edit]

Queens possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Government[edit]

Queens has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources-D (Very abundant)
    • (Resources are any materials available for processing and exploitation. They include natural resources, minerals, ores, metals, energy sources, biological assets, and any other materials of limited availability.)
  • Labor-6 (Millions)
    • (Labor is the workforce available for the processing and exploitation of Resources.)
  • Infrastructure-8 (Generally available)
    • (Infrastructure is the established technical structures that support exploitation of resources. Infrastructure includes roads, power grids, communications, and factories.)
  • Efficiency- 1 (Average)
    • (Efficiency reflects the current economic system, and includes sensible legal procedures, appropriate tariffs, customs promoting a balanced work ethic, rewards for merit, and social structures which match ability and job. Negative Efficiency is worse. Efficiency at -1 or less turn the RUs available negative: the Inefficiencies are so destructive as to make the economy a net drain. Such barriers represent a welfare state; cultural influences which do not value wealth, even physical limitations. On the other hand, since some economies have positive efficiencies: positive multipliers increasing available RU. )
  • Economic Extension- 28
    • (The Economic Extension (Ex) is the strength of a world economy and provides basic insights into the economy’s structure and capabilities.)
  • Resource Units- 624
    • (The world's budget.)

Members of non-homogeneous cultures hold many different beliefs on the fundamentals of society.)
  • Acceptance-6 (Aloof)
    • (Acceptance is the degree of xenophobia ( or xenophilia ) in the culture. High Acceptance is evidenced by friendliness to outsiders and offworlders; Low Acceptance is characterized by fear or rejection of outsiders.)
  • Strangeness-6 (Very distinct)
