Pynchan is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.

- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Orphans Subsector of Precipice Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)
Pynchan has been classified as an Amber Zone due to on ongoing war between a rebel group led by Enoc su-Krang against the government. Many atrocities were commited by both sides during the fighting. The war has gone on for some time now, and the loyalist forces seemed on the verge of complete and total collapse when a loyalist commando strike killed su-Krang. The rebel army began to disintegrate immediately and most of the high rebel leadership switched sides.
World Starport
Pynchan has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
