Description (Specifications)

Charted Space is ages way from created a functional portal capable of creating a permanent exist or entrance to jump space. The theoretical science of the portal isn't understood past a rudimentary level.

• Naturally occurring wormholes can be used by many technologically capable groups, but they are incredibly rare and often of temporary duration, making them dangerous to use and completely impractical for the purposes of interstellar commerce.
• The Argian Stargate is a contemporary technology exploring portal-like capabilities using extant jump drive technology.

History & Background (Dossier)

It is believed that the precursor race, the Ancients, most likely possessed at least partial mastery of this technology.
