System Data

Garsuka-Pessent System

The primary is Garsuka, an ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 4.42 Sols, a mass of 1.38 Sols, and a diameter of 2.031 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a very thin atmosphere inner world, (III) a sparse stony planetoid belt, and (IV) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (V) Pessent orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VI) a thin atmosphere radworld, (VII) a dense icy planetoid belt, (VIII) a ringed large gas giant, (IX) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (X) a vacuum worldlet form the outer system. Most of the worlds in the system retain satellites.

(V) Pessent is designated the mainworld. It orbits Garsuka at a mean distance of 1.48 AU (221.4 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 1 year 195 days and a rotation period of 19.5 hours. The axial tilt is 16 degrees. Pessent has a diameter of 14,896 km, a density of 5.92 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.25 G. The world is geologically very active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 2.21 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N₂), 22% oxygen (O₂), and 1% argon (Ar), carbon dioxide (CO₂), water vapor (H₂O), neon (Ne), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and other trace gases. The atmospheric taint is caused by sulfur compounds of volcanic origin. Approximately 93% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.75m. Mean surface temperature: 2°C. The atmosphere is very active and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
