System Data[edit]
Peron System[edit]
The primary is an unnamed ordinary yellow-white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 2.126 Sols, a mass of 1.144 Sols, and a diameter of 1.639 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere radworld, (II) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, and (III) a standard atmosphere hospitable water world. (IV-I) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (IV-II) Peron, designated the mainworld, have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (V) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VI) a ringed large gas giant, and (VII) a small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Red Main Sequence Subsystem[edit]
The companion is an unnamed dim red main sequence star that lies approximately 1,340 AU from the primary. It has a luminosity of 0.007 Sols, a mass of 0.331 Sols, and a diameter of 498,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) large gas giant, and (III) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. The gas giant retains satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(IV) Peron[edit]
(IV) Peron is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 1.12 AU (167.6 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 1 year 40 days and a rotation period of 27.5 hours. The axial tilt is 31 degrees. Peron has a diameter of 11,805 km, a density of 5.38 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.90 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 1.84 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 47% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 12°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the seas drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Satellite[edit]
Peron retains a single natural satellite, a cratered vacuum worldlet named Hector:
- (IVa) Hector (UWP ?200???-?, orbiting at 25 Diameters/295,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 438 million km², Land surface area: 232 million km², Water surface area: 206 million km².
Native Lifeforms[edit]
The temperate hospitable water world lying in orbital position (III) (within the H– region of the inner system) has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Peron, the mainworld, lying within the habitable zone, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (V) (within the H+ region of the outer system) primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
