Pediica supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. The world has been set aside to preserve indigenous life forms, to delay resource development, or for other reasons. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Laraa Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Pediica, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Arkliuukii.

History and background

Records from the Second Imperium show this world may have been inhabited by Chirpers.

Pediica was a prosperous petrochemical processing settlement until late 613 when, while the fleets were heavily involved in the Civil War, the planet was invaded by the M'nengi hordes who exterminated the entire colony. The M'nengi were only finally defeated in 615 with the return of Duke Julianne Viisarikaa and his war weary fleet. Pediica is now left as a planetary war memorial to the millions who were slaughtered.

Today the only permanent inhabitants are the Scouts who look after the many graves and memorials, preventing unauthorized access to the Pediica spice works.
